CITES Appendix II: Indonesian Plant Exports
Legal export guide for CITES-listed plant families (Orchidaceae, Cycadaceae, Euphorbia) and ethical non-wild nursery propagation.

International biodiversity treaties strictly regulate cross-border trade in vulnerable botanical species. The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) ensures that international commercial trade does not threaten the survival of wild plant populations.
CITES Appendix I vs Appendix II Plant Taxa
Appendix I includes species threatened with extinction, for which commercial international trade is strictly prohibited. Appendix II includes taxa that are not necessarily threatened with extinction now, but may become so unless trade is strictly controlled. Notable plant families listed in Appendix II include all wild orchids (*Orchidaceae*), cycads (*Cycadaceae*), and tree ferns (*Dicksoniaceae*).
Artificial Propagation Certification (SKTHB)
Under Indonesian law (Ministry of Environment and Forestry / KLHK), nursery-cultivated specimens of CITES-listed species can be exported commercially provided they are accompanied by a Certificate of Artificial Propagation (Surat Keterangan Tanaman Hasil Budidaya / SKTHB). This document proves that the specimens were propagated from registered domestic mother-stock rather than harvested illegally from wild rainforests.
Our Commitment to Ethical Conservation
Foliaria exclusively exports specimens grown in registered greenhouse cultivation facilities. We reject wild-poached plants entirely. By providing fully traceable, legal documentation alongside each shipment, we protect our international buyers from regulatory seizure and actively promote sustainable ex-situ conservation.
