📦 Post-Transit Triage Protocol • QR Box Companion

Clinical Post-Flight Care
& Acclimatization Guide.

Live tropical specimens experience up to 96 hours of pressurized cabin air transit. Follow this empirical protocol immediately upon box delivery to guarantee optimal recovery and maintain full 24-Hour DOA Warranty coverage.

📹

Mandatory 24-Hour DOA Unboxing Verification Rule

To be eligible for 100% free specimen replacement or credit note under our Arrival Guarantee, buyers must record an uninterrupted, single-take unboxing video starting before the external DHL tape/box seal is severed, demonstrating:

  • Clear visibility of the DHL Air Waybill (AWB) and Barantan Phytosanitary seal.
  • Inspection of the root ball, leaf condition, and apical growth tip.
  • Submission of footage within 24 hours of timestamped carrier delivery to our WhatsApp desk.

3-Phase Plant Recovery Protocol

Do not repot immediately into soil upon arrival. Follow these calibrated steps:

1

Phase 1: Initial Inspection & Moss Moisture Check

First 0 – 2 Hours Post-Delivery
Critical Assessment

Action Checklist:

  • • Gently peel away outer corrugated wrapping. Do NOT violently shake or pull roots from moss.
  • • Evaluate root wrap: Chilean AAA sphagnum moss is packed at our strict 60% moisture squeeze standard.
  • • Roots should feel cool and moist, not soaking wet. If completely dry from customs delays, mist with filtered RO water.
⚠️ What NOT to do:

Do NOT submerge the entire root ball in water bucket. Transit roots suffer from oxygen starvation; full submersion induces cellular suffocation and root rot.

2

Phase 2: Microclimate Rebalancing & Shaded Quarantine

Hours 2 – 72 Post-Delivery
Stabilization Chamber

Environmental Parameters:

  • • Relative Humidity: Place inside a greenhouse cabinet, plastic bin, or tent at 75% – 85% RH.
  • • Temperature: Maintain stable 22°C – 26°C (72°F – 78°F). Keep away from drafts or A/C vents.
  • • Lighting: Low, indirect ambient light only. Avoid direct sun or high-intensity LED grow lights for 48h.
💡 Yellowing Leaves are Normal:

It is normal for 1-2 lower sacrificial leaves to turn yellow post-transit as the plant recycles mobile nutrients. Focus on the firmness of the central stem/apical bud.

3

Phase 3: Root Activation & Permanent Potting

Days 4 – 14 Post-Delivery
Permanent Transition

Potting Standard:

  • • Keep plant in moss/perlite until active root growth (fresh fuzzy white/green tips) is visible.
  • • Transition into a high-drainage chunky aroid substrate: 40% pine bark, 30% perlite, 20% coco chips, 10% worm castings.
  • • Zero Chemical Fertilizer: Do NOT apply liquid fertilizer or slow-release pellets for the first 21 days.
